What is the Kuwait law on domestic workers?

We would like to inform you that The State of Kuwait has promulgated Law No. 68 of 2015 on the regulation of domestic workers and has provided for various rights for domestic workers, including:

 - The employer shall pay the agreed wage to the domestic worker who works for him at the end of each month. The transfer receipt and receipt shall be considered as a copy of the proof of receipt of his salary by the domestic worker.

- The payment of the monthly wage to the domestic worker shall be from the effective date of receiving the work with the employer. In no case shall any part of the salary be deducted.

- The employer is obliged to feed the domestic worker and his wife and the expenses of his treatment, nursing and housing.

- No domestic worker may be assigned any hazardous work that would affect his health or insult his human dignity. The domestic labor administration shall be competent to deal with the resulting allegations for this reason.

- The employer is obliged to provide adequate housing for the domestic worker with adequate means of living.

- The employer shall not keep any personal documents or documents of his domestic worker such as a passport or civil ID, unless the consent of the domestic worker.
