We would like to inform you that if you are a resident of the Sultanate of Oman and wish to obtain a passport and nationality here and in accordance with the law on the granting of nationality, which specify the cases with which can apply for citizenship as follows.
According to Article (2) of the Omani Nationality Law, the conditions for a foreigner to obtain Omani nationality are:
1. He must be an adult and be fluent in writing and reading Arabic
2. Prior to applying for citizenship, he must have resided within the Sultanate for twenty years if he is married to an Omani. He shall be entitled to leave the Sultanate during this period but for a period not exceeding two months per year
3 - to be of good conduct and sound of impairments and has not been sentenced for the crime of breach of honor and honesty unless it is considered.
4. He must have a means of subsistence for him and his dependents.
5 - To apply in accordance with the form prepared for this and show a willingness to relinquish his previous nationality and that the former town law allows him to do so. He shall take the oath mentioned in the text of the law.
The law also allows citizenship to be granted without abiding by the aforementioned conditions, but this is exempted by Royal Decree. Therefore, if the conditions are met, the Ministry of Interior can be reviewed and applied
Note does not mean the applicability of the legal text is to confirm the acquisition of nationality and the absolute decision of the Minister of the Interior may agree and may refuse.
