We would like to inform you that according to the Bahraini Labor Law on resignation and termination of employment if the fixed term employment contract ended on its own at the expiry of its term. If the parties continue to implement it after the expiry of its term without an express agreement, it shall be deemed a renewal of the contract for an indefinite period and under the conditions stated therein. If the contract is fixed for more than five years, the worker may, after the expiration of five years, terminate it without compensation.
If the contract is not fixed term, each party may terminate it after informing the other party in writing before the termination of thirty days for the workers appointed with a monthly wage. If the contract is terminated without observing this period, The other party shall pay compensation equal to the wage of the worker for the period of the time limit or the remaining part thereof.
For workers who do not benefit from the provisions of the Social Insurance Law, the employer shall terminate the employment relationship if the worker is terminated for a period of fifteen days for each service year of the first three years and a month for each of the following years. Reward for fractions of the year by the amount of time spent in service. If the termination by the worker is in this case, one third of the remuneration shall be payable if the period of his service is not less than three consecutive years and not more than five years and the full remuneration is due if he resigns after five years and provided that the termination of the contract by the worker is not a means of avoiding dismissal in accordance with the provisions of Article 113) and the worker shall notify the employer of his intention to leave the work in accordance with the provisions of Article (107) of this law and the worker in lieu of this notice shall cause the employer to pay the period equal to the notice period.
