Good evening. I am a consultant working for a private school in Abu Dhabi. They have made one excuse after another but ha e not paid any invoices despite many requests. How can I get paid by these dishonest people?

It should be noted that after reviewing your inquiry and legal scrutiny we would like to inform you that referring to the UAE Labor Law:
Article (56). Workers who are hired at an annual or monthly wage are paid at least once a month and all other workers are paid at least once every two weeks.
Thus, if there is a violation in the employment contract, he may go to the Ministry of Labor and file a complaint and then leave the work according to Article 121:
A worker may leave work without notice in one of the following cases:
1- If the employer violates his obligations before the worker in the articles stipulated in the contract or the law.
2- If the employer or his legal representative signs an assault on the worker.
Then you can change the employer without NOC from the employer. Therefore, it is clear that the existence of the violation can be with him and as explained to go to the Labor Office and submit a complaint to the work of the branch and established in the UAE and that if you dispense with your services without the existence of the legal justification here, the text of Article (115) of the law to clarify the following:
Article (115):
Where an employment contract is for a definite term and the employer revokes it for reasons other than those specified in Article (120) he shall be required to compensate the worker for any damage the latter sustains, provided that the amount of compensation shall in no case exceed the aggregate wage due for a period of three months or the remaining period of the contract, whichever is shorter, unless otherwise stipulated in the contract.

I am not on their payroll. I am paid by the day. That law doesn’t apply. I do have a contract for the provision of services.

Welcome again!
If you mean that you have a service contract with the school while it refuses to pay the rights to you or= delay it, you can take the legal action through hiring a lawyer who takes the procedure to provide a legal warning to them to pay or otherwise you have the right to resort to the judiciary in order to claim your dues in addition to compensation for any damage caused to you by this delay in payment, so it is through a lawsuit then, they will be legally warned.
