In accordance with Omani law, the employer may not reserve her passport. However, if the passport is reserved by the sponsor's employer, it is possible to claim it. If it is rejected, you can file a complaint with the nearest police station and You can submit a copy of the complaint in front of the work books to indicate the matter and the violation, but the law allowed that the passport be held at any government department affiliated to the Ministry of Interior with the justification of the legal reservation or not considered a violation of the law and this contrary to employers in the private sector, which prevents them to seize the passports of workers.
**** With regard to escape, yes it is considered a crime that the employer can submit the escape notice against you and the result of the ban you in addition to the work of the text of Article (116) of the Labor Law:
Article (116):
Where a contract is revoked by the worker for reasons other than those stipulated in Article (121), he shall be required to compensate the employer for any damage the latter sustains as a result, provided that the amount of compensation shall not exceed half a month wage for three months or for the remaining period of the contract, whichever is shorter, unless otherwise stipulated in the contract.
