Dear Customer,
Thanks for joining and trusting us, much appreciated!
We would like to inform you that you can apply for a Qatari driving license in an easy way. All you have to do is print the application form in Arabic, fill it out and submit it with a number of documents that we will mention at the General Directorate of Traffic in Khalifa City from 7 am to 11 am and from 4 pm to 7 pm all days of the week except Friday.
A person must pass a theoretical and practical test to pass the driving test in order to be able to apply for a license. A person with a driving license from a foreign legal authority or a military driving license may be exempt from the test.
The test is in Arabic and it is about traffic rules, signs and principles in automotive mechanics. Applicants who are not familiar with the Arabic language can provide the theoretical test orally.
In the event that the applicant passes the theoretical test, he or she will be given a practical test to examine his or her ability to drive in all circumstances. The test shall be carried out on a vehicle of the type of vehicle submitted for a driving license.
The fees for obtaining a driving license for Qataris are QR 500 and valid for 10 years. The non-Qatari fees are QR 250 and valid for 5 years, which does not include any additional tests such as driving and vision tests.
