Any visitor in Qatar can drive a car through an international driver's license, provided it is not issued in Qatar and is not valid for use in the country of origin. For residents, they must have a Qatari driver's license to be able to drive a car and there are some ways to obtain it.
If you have a driver's license from your country of origin, you can apply for a driver's license exam at any driving school. Once the applications submitted and the exam has been finished, and if the result is successful, a new country driving license will be issued. If you fail the exam, you can only do it again two more times. If you cannot succeed then your only choice is to enroll in a driving school to take a driving course.
The driving exam includes the following:
· Oral exam
· Parking in reverse
· Parking on a high place
· Driving in the street

For residents, the following steps must be taken to obtain the license.
Applicant must be at least 18 years old for a light driving license or a motorcycle driver's license and 21 years for a driving license for heavy vehicles or for architectural or agricultural equipment needs.
Attach the following:
· Fill out and sign a full driving license application form.
· Submit an official request letter from the sponsor
· A copy of sponsor's ID card
· Passport with additional copy.
· Three photos (colorful and newly taken).
