It should be noted that after reviewing your inquiry and legal scrutiny we would like to inform you that according to the Ministerial Decision No. 591 of 2016 regarding the obligation of enterprises to provide housing for workers, enterprises employing 50 or more workers are obliged to provide housing for their workers who have a total wage of two thousand dirhams or less and that the following standards must be available in the bathrooms:
- Health facilities shall be easy and without the need to cross the bedrooms.
- In the case of shared bathrooms, one toilet must be provided for every 8 persons and the number of latrines should not be less than 2 in any shared bathroom.
- Provided on the basis of one unit for every 25 people. If water is available under pressure, the urinals must be supplied with sufficient water to be used after completion.
- 1 shower and 1 hand wash per 8 people.
- Provide cold and hot water.
- Mixing valves should be available in hand wash basins to adjust the water temperature used.
- Bathroom and bathroom designs must contain fixtures and fittings for hanging clothes and towels, soap, mirrors and cabinets. Clothes racks and towels made of strong materials such as stainless steel must be provided in sufficient quantities for the planned number of users.
- The windows should be at least 10% of the bathroom floor area and should be opened directly at least 50% of the total area of the windows.
- No toilet or chemical or urinal bathroom equipment should be placed in a room used for purposes other than toilet purposes.
- Toiletries must be supplied with toilet paper in sufficient quantity.
- Bathrooms and latrines must be kept in good health. They must be cleaned at least once a day. Disinfectants must be placed in them.
