Dear Mahdi I had invested in an off plan Project called the Palisades - meant to be built in Dubai Investment Park back in 2007. We are really very happy to hear that after 12 years, there will be a court hearing this month on Tuesday 18th of June, 2019. What Happened , is that I booked 2 X 2 Bedroom Apartments in Block L ( 109 & 110 ). I do not have a Sales Plan , as when I kept chasing Pearl Properties Management to get a copy of the SPA they were avoiding to have it ready. So I ended paying 20% of the value of each of the apartments totaling to the amount of AED 485,473 ( Four Hundred Eighty Five Thousand & 473 Dirhams ). I did not make any further payment , as payment plan was on Project progress basis. I understand that Dubai Lands Department / RERA did not approve the project, as a result never materialized. I am not sure what are our chances of recovering any money invested ? I am aware that they had established an escrow account with ADCB ( Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank) based on the attached letter which funds was then transferred to RERA back in March 2014. I have also attached a letter from KPMG / Auditors of Pearl Properties acknowledging the fact that they had received the above mentioned funds against a booking for apartments 109 & 110 in Block L part of the project. I am not sure what are the next steps and would appreciate if you can help guide me through the process in an effort to recover partial or ideally the full amount , as the project in reality was never built.
