Note: The fine for the delay in renewing the driving license for less than 10 years is 10 AED per month, with a maximum of 500 AED. In the case of its expiration for more than 10 years, the customer is only allowed to renew it after passing the evaluation test

Through the website

The customer receives a temporary driving license to print while waiting for the original license which can be delivered through 2 channels

Customer Happiness Centers in Deira or Al Barsha

By courier, with an additional fee of 25 AED

Through the centres or kiosk

The customer is required to pay all the due fines in one of the above-mentioned Customer Happiness Centers

Through the call centre

The customer contacts the call centre and provides RTA with the driving license number

The customer is required to pay the fines by credit card

RTA verifies the submitted documents and issues a replacement for the lost or damaged license

The customer receives a temporary driving license while waiting for the original license which can be delivered through 2 channels

Terms and conditions

The validity of the medical test is 6 months from the date of issuance

All fines must be paid

In case the customer is 21 years old and above, the driving license can be renewed 1 year before the expiry date

In case the customer is less than 21 years old, the license can be renewed 6 months before the expiry date

The driving license to be renewed must be effective (not-cancelled), with its owner, or found (in case it was lost then found by an individual who returned it to the competent authorities)

Temporary or periodic driving licenses cannot be renewed

The customer’s photograph will be scanned by the Emirates ID scanner

Any national or holder of a valid UAE residence visa issued by Dubai can undergo the eye test outside UAE if it was accredited by the UAE consulate or embassy
