I need to petition for a court order name change...
I need to petition for a court order name change in the UAE as I currently reside here. I was born with the name Omad, but my name was changed to Emad after few months of birth. All my documents including my passport has the current name except my birth certificate. In order to update the birth certificate I need to obtain a court order. Bear in mind I was born in the US.

We would like to inform you that unfortunately you can't change the family name if you are an expat in UAE, and only you can change the name in your country an must have the required conditions and the reasons to change it.
In regard to the social status, you can change from married into divorced and you can review your country embassy and change the status.
