What is Circumcision:

It is a minor operation that is based on removal of the foreskin from the human penis

How it is done:

• A general or local anesthesia is used according to the surgeon 
• the foreskin is opened and separated from the glans of penis
• then the foreskin is removed
• a thin suturing is placed after removing the foreskin and it will be absorped by the skin with time

Why it is done:

• an elective surgery in most of the times
• for religious reasons
• for traditional reasons
• can be a treatment for recurrent urinary tract infection, phimosis
• it is contraindicated in genital tract structural abnormalities and you should take the surgeon advice in such case
