Welcome! How can I help with your medical question? I have lymph node in my neck side by side and on my back neck and I don’t feel any fever or something Have you seen a doctor about this yet? What medications are you taking? Yah right now he give me antibiotics for 1 week and i did xray and ultrasound... on my xray it’s normal but for my ultrasound it’s already 2.1 cm ... Anything else in your medical history you think the doctor should know? No

To know what might be causing your lymph nodes, may need:
  1.  Your medical history. when and how your swollen lymph nodes developed 
  2. and if you have any other signs or symptoms.
  3. A physical exam.
  4. Blood tests. most likely will include a complete blood count (CBC). 
  5. Imaging studies. A chest X-ray or computerized tomography (CT) scan 
  6. lymph node biopsy.
  7. may remove an entire lymph node for microscopic examination.

 Treatment of lymph nodes
  • Swollen lymph nodes caused by a virus may return to normal after the viral infection resolves.
  • Antibiotics are not useful to treat viral infections. T
  • treatment for swollen lymph nodes from other causes depends on the cause:
  1.  Infection. caused by a bacterial infection is antibiotics. 
  2. If your swollen lymph nodes are due to an HIV infection, you'll receive specific treatment.
  3. Immune disorder.  such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, treatment is directed at the underlying condition.
  4. Cancer. Depending on the type of cancer, treatment may involve surgery, radiation or chemotherapy.
 
Lifestyle and home remedies
  • If your swollen lymph nodes are tender or painful, you might get some relief by doing the following:
  1.  Apply a warm compress. Apply a warm, wet compress .
  2. Take pain reliever. These include aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), naproxen (Aleve) or acetaminophen (Tylenol, others). .
  3. Get adequate rest. You often need rest to aid your recovery from the underlying condition.
