If you have pain in the back of your head this might be due to stress, neck spasm, or other causes. However it is common for neck spasm to cause head pain especially at the occipital area. In this case you need to do couple of things like: take analgesic like ibuprofen or paracetamol. Also you need to use topical analgesic and you need to use muscle relaxants like ophenadrin.
It is important to relax and to use hot compression and to avoid stress and exercise during early stage after initiation of pain.
