What are the causes of rapid weight loss?

It is difficult to answer question which is not completely understood. I understand from your question that you have rapid weight loss and you are afraid of that. In general, there are some things that can cause rapid weight loss in medical practice. For example diabetes type one can cause rapid weight loss but it affect young adults and it is due to immunological response. Other cause is because of increase secretion of thyroxin from thyroid, this is associated with tremor, rapid heart rate and weight loss. Obviously you might think also of cancer, this is still a suspicion, to be sure of it you need to run some tests and to exclude previous differentials. I recommend to do those tests:
CBC, ESR, TSH, T3, T3 AST ALT, CXR, RBS, FBG
Those are primary test and if doctor mandate further investigation, hen do them for your sack.
You might have nothing, however we can’t rely on that without doing tests to reassure you. So please see a doctor.
