My wife who's on hormonal therapy for breast cancer developed sudden allergy to mosquito bites . Big red patchs around 7cm diameter! , itching that may stay for several days ! What is the best treatment ? Thanks

Management of allergy:


According to your description, your wife complain of allergy.
You can use the following treatment:

  • Betamethazone cream twice daily
  • Anti histamine as cetrizine 10 mg once daily and if there is no response she can take prednisone 5 mg twice daily.

What is allergy?

Thanks for your reply The allergy she is having is very strong . She almost took these medicines but the improvement is week !.How far can she increase the doses? Is loratidin stronger antihistamine in this case?Last question; is it possible that the hormonal therapy induced this allergy?Thanks

hello
loratadin is good drug to treat allergy, also you might consider use topical anti-allergic medications like hydrocortisone.
and yes anything can induce allergy even for hormonal drugs however, it can be due to many other causes, especially if you take your hormones for long time and then symptoms appear so the hormones might not be the cause.
