My husband physically and mentally abuses me and...
My husband physically and mentally abuses me and during marriage he gave me gold jewelry as gift and now he claims that it is his thing. And i am not the owner but as per islam when one gives gift to other is is no more its property. I dont have reciepts to proof as this Jewellery is from hus own gold shop. What should i do. He is keeping my passport with him and is not returning to me.

If the husband presents gold jewelry upon marriage, then these jewelry become the property of the wife after the completion of the marriage. If your husband submitted a complaint against you, you shall submit the marriage document to prove that these jewelry were a gift from the marriage dowry and that they became your property upon completion of that marriage. You may also file a criminal report against your husband for holding your passport, as he is not allowed to do so, and he will be summoned and forced to return your passport to you.
