The UAE permits the transportation and transplantation of organs and human tissues in accordance with the provisions of Federal Decree No. (5) of 2016 regarding the regulation of the transportation and transplantation of organs and human tissues. This law applies to operations that take place within the state, or in its free zones.
This law decree aims to:
- Organize conducting transplants, transplants, and maintaining human organs and tissues
- Preventing trafficking in human organs and tissues
- Protecting the rights of the people from whom or to whom organs or human tissues are transferred
- Organize the human organ and tissue donation process
- Preventing the exploitation of the patient or donor need
The state also prohibits trafficking in human organs in accordance with Federal Law No. (51) of 2006 in the matter of combating human trafficking, amended by Federal Law No. (1) of 2015.
This law decree aims to:
- Organize conducting transplants, transplants, and maintaining human organs and tissues
- Preventing trafficking in human organs and tissues
- Protecting the rights of the people from whom or to whom organs or human tissues are transferred
- Organize the human organ and tissue donation process
- Preventing the exploitation of the patient or donor need
