According to the facts presented to us in your inquiry here and with reference to the residence law for expatriates in the country, and with regard to the validity of the visa for tourism or visit, it is for a period of thirty days subject to extension and renewal for a similar period consequently, visitors and tourists in the Emirates can request to extend visit and tourism visas and entry permits of all kinds (long or short) for a period of 30 days and only twice, regardless of the basic duration of the original visa and without the need to leave the UAE.
The fees for extending entry permits and tourist visas are 600 dirhams for each extension, and the renewal application must be submitted before the expiry of the period of the validity of the previous visa.
Violators who exceed the visa period without renewing it according to the specified rules and times will have a fine of 100 dirhams for each day of delay imposed after 10 days have passed since the entry permit or visa has expired, and the extension date is calculated from the date of the expiration of the previous entry permit.
**Therefore, in the event of the expiry of the visa, it cannot be renewed or extended, because the law stipulates that the request for extension or renewal be before the expiry of the visa
We would like to inform you that if you mean that you have fines for delay because of visa break and residence, you may go to emigrate and residence affairs of foreigners and to submit a grievance or mercy application to reduce the fine or exemption from them, and explain your financial circumstances as a try and not more, this authority has the absolute authority in approval or refusal to exempt or reduce the fine
Article 77 of the executive regulations of Federal Law No. 6 of 1973 stipulate that:
The Executive Regulation of Federal Law, stipulating that the competent Naturalization and Residency Department shall collect a fine of 100 AED for each day in which the alien resides illegally. As the penalty shall be calculated from the day following the expiration of the non-renewable visa and the expiration of 10 days for the renewable visas and seven days from the date of issuance of the exit permit for violators of the Aliens Entry and Residence Law.
**Note that, the Nationality and Residency consider the 100 AED fine from the first day of expiration of all visa types even visit, transit, entry, tourist and entry permit to visit residents in the GCC.
Article 78
Of the same law stipulates that, except in the cases mentioned in the preceding article, the financial fine obtained by an alien for his illegal residence in the country after the expiration of his/her visa/residence permit, as it shall be calculated as the following:
· (25 AED) on every day of the first six months,
· (50 AED) for each of the next six months.
· (100 AED) for each day next to the year.
