Article 399 of the Federal Law of the United Arab Emirates No. 3 of 1987 and its amendments (the “Penal Code”) provides the following:
Anyone who has obtained seizure of himself or others on movable money, bond or signature of this bond, or of its cancellation, damage or amendment, by means of fraudulent means or by taking a false name or adjective for the purpose of deceiving the victim and compelling him to deliver those funds, shall be punished with imprisonment or a fine.
Whoever disposes of real estate or movable property that knows that it is not owned by him or does not have the right to dispose of it or dispose of any of that, knowing that another person has disposed of it or contracted on it and that would cause harm to others, shall be punished with the same penalty.
