how to treat hiccups ?
direct uvular stimulation by gargling with ice water
removal of stomach contents
increasing intra abdominal pressure via valsalva manuver
pulling the knees up to the chest and leaning forward
breathing into a paper bag
Breath holding
Mental distraction
Hypnosis
using some medications such as : Chlorpromazine (drug of choice) , Baclofen , Metoclopramide
if all previous measures failed you can consider surgery by performing Phrenic nerve ablation
