treatment:
 impaired function of the wrist after fracture of the humerus or after plate fixation of the fracture could be due to injury of the radial nerve which passes behind and around the humerus ,the injury could've occurred due to fragments of the fractured humerus that affect the nerve, or during the surgery the plate or screws can compress the nerve ,so management  depends on the degree of affection ,if the injury was due to the plate then nerve function can be partially restored when plate will be removed , if fibers are formed around the nerve then it should be dissected by surgery to free  the nerve.during this period you can take cataflam20mg twice a day for pain relief .
Causes:

• injury of radial nerve due to affection by fragments from the fracture
• injury or compression of the nerve by the plate or the screws
• fibers around the nerve

Diagnosis:
based on the history, physical examination and diagnostic tests such as EMG of the nerve ,  x-ray of the humerus to see if the plate is compressing on the nerve route, MRI of the arm to detect injuries of the nerve
symptoms of injury of radial nerve:

• wrist drop
