Dear Dr, I was tempted by the info in your website to raise the issue i have with my finger. I a left thumb trigger finger release operation. Since then i have numbness on one side of my finger. I am not sure what to do. Here are my questions: 1- Will the numbness disappear by time 2- Is there any home treatment i can do to make numbness go away 3- Is this considered a medical mistake were the doctor shouuld be liable for it. Hello Sir,
You should know that It is common to have some soreness in your palm after this surgery. Most probably, It will go away on its own. You still have to follow up with your doctor. Frequently raising your hand above your heart can help reduce swelling and pain. Recovery is usually complete within a few weeks, but it may take up to 6 months for all swelling and stiffness to go away. Medications such as Pregabalin “Lyrica” can help, and you can consult your doctor about that.
Physical therapy and finger exercises may help as well.
